Comuna 13 is a neighborhood that holds the unhappy distinction of formerly being one of the most dangerous places in the country but in the last 15 years has improved drastically. See statues made by one of Colombia's most famous artists. If you've been to our house in Norman then you've probably seen some voluptuous mini-replicas and paintings of Botero that we have. Plaza Botero is downtown and there's a lot of touristy shops and sights within walking distance, not to mention a major Metro station!

La Plaza Botero está en el centro y hay muchas tiendas y lugares turísticos a poca distancia, ¡sin mencionar una importante estación de metro!

Guatapé Tour: Piedra del Peñol

You have to buy a ticket and climb over 740 steps to reach the viewing tower on top of this monolithic rock, but the sweeping 360º views of Guatapé Lake and the surrounding El Peñol region are well worth the price of admission. There are also restaurants at both the base and the summit. If you're already in Guatapé town, it's a short tuk-tuk ride or an easy half-hour walk from the square. For travelers coming from Medellin, La Piedra is a two-hour bus trip away; booking a day trip is often a cheap and convenient option; you can do that here.

Tour Guatapé: Piedra del Peñol

Tienes que comprar un boleto y subir más de 740 escalones para llegar a la torre de observación en la cima de esta roca monolítica, pero las vistas panorámicas de 360º del lago Guatapé y la región circundante de El Peñol bien valen el precio de la entrada. También hay restaurantes tanto en la base como en la cumbre. Si ya estás en la ciudad de Guatapé, es un corto paseo en tuk-tuk o una fácil caminata de media hora desde la plaza. Para los viajeros que vienen de Medellín, La Piedra está a dos horas de viaje en autobús; reservar una excursión de un día suele ser una opción económica y cómoda; puedes hacerlo aquí.

From insane landscapes and mouth watering food to the best coffee in the world, this trip is a must (if you have the time). The 3-5 hour route from Medellin to the Coffee Axis can be done through car, bus or plane. Follow this very thorough guide on your options on how to get to there.
